So, there have been two riffs that TC has forgotten—two hooked fish that have gotten away, if you will. The first was a song from a dream. The second was a song played high on the guitar neck. Sometimes, in an attempt to catch this second “white whale,” TC will play higher up on the neck in the hopes of stumbling upon the old riff. His most recent attempt did not lead to rediscovering the lost riff; but it did lead to a new song: “Swan” (so called because it’s played higher on the neck).
Both parts were written recently (2023-present). After writing them, TC discovered, to his amusement, that they were in the Lydian mode.
