This is an original instrumental that reminds me of a superhero—hence, “Tights”—while also having an Irish feel. I wrote the A and B Riffs on keyboard during my High School Era (1999 to 2003). The two riffs were originally part of separate songs but got paired together at some point over the years. I wrote the C Riff during my Clerkship Era (2017-2018) when I was adding bridges to many of my songs to make them ‘“complete.”
The song features a common key change I use where I move to a relative scale or mode in the bridge. Specifically, I move from the mixolydian mode in the A and B Riffs to the relative minor in the C Riff bridge.
