Circumscribed was written recently (2023-present). The A Part is based on a fingerpicking lick I wrote in college (2003-2007) that included an Am to E chord progression. The C Part was created when I was playing around with open chord shapes higher on the neck.

This song is unique for me in that there’s not really a melody, just chord progressions that I find satisfying. And I enjoy it as it gives me an excuse to fingerpick.
