Three-Day Weekend

Solo Acoustic Version

About

This is definitely a hodge-podge song. The A Riff was written during High School (1999-2003), the B Riff during the Dark Ages (2008-2016), the C Riff during College (2003-2007), and the D Riff during High School. While the A and D Parts were definitely written on guitar, the C part was originally a vocal melody. The A, B, and C Parts are in Mixolydian, and then the song moves to the relative major for the bridge/D Part.

Overall, it’s a fun, bouncy song that TC enjoys playing, even if he has to modify the finger-tapping part when playing live. The carefree nature of the song is supposed to evoke the freedom of a three-day weekend, hence the title.
