TC wrote the main riff in college (2003-2007) after his younger sister played the first four notes on a tiny keyboard. TC wrote the B Part during his Clerkship Era (2017-2018). TC wrote the Part C outro recently (2023-present).
The song has a fun, Latin feel. The title comes from the fact that one iteration of the song featured the lyrical hook “I’m still special to my mom,” and “May May” is TC’s mother’s grandmother name.
